The City of Puerto Princesa in Palawan is where you will find not only world-class, but the most environmental-friendly international airport in the country. The new airport will follow the program that requires facilities to reduce carbon footprint. The terminal building has been designed more unique than other airports because of its transparent roofing, thus saving more electricity. The parking area, which has a slot for over 200 cars, maintained the century old acacia trees in the area. The airport has plants that use less water, for better conservation. The Airport's modern terminal complex has a floor area of 13,000 sq. meters and seating capacity of 1,500. It has a 2,600 meter runway that can accommodate bigger aircraft like an airbus A330 (seating capacity – 400 pax) and six parking bays. It also has a state of the art air navigation system, such as the instrument landing system, automated weather observing system and VHF omni directional radio range that comply with international standards, enhancing the airport’s safety operations.
