PUERTO PRINCESA MAIN ROADS - RIZAL AVENUE, MALVAR STREET, MANALO STREET, ETC

Image
We feature Puerto Princesa Road upon the request of some locals who are living abroad or far away from the City. They wanted to see how the roads look like nowadays and what are the developments in the area. We chose Rizal Avenue because it is one of the busy streets that can be found in the City. You may see how the City perfectly balances natural beauty with the convenience of an urban lifestyle. There are several establishments and shopping malls along the way. Public transportation is very easy, with multicabs and tricycles plying the roads, any time of the day. You will also see how disciplined local residents are in maintaining a litter-free environment. BM BEACH PUERTO PRINCESA PALAWAN

Image
BM BEACH is the most accessible beach from Puerto Princesa City proper. It has shallow water and is a good place to bring your kids for a swim. At its peak, the water rises knee-high and you need to walk over a few meters to get to swimmable water. That being said, it is a very serene place with winds blowing in your ear and the sun shining on the shore. The place is clean and well kept. You are free to set up your picnic mats for as long as it doesn't hamper other visitors. This is how a normal public beach in Puerto Princesa looks like. And this place is only about 10 minutes ride from the City proper. The City life in Puerto Princesa is far way different from other cities in the world. Here, you can spend your normal day by going to the beach, soak in the water or simply just feel nature. Palawan is known as the Philippines' last frontier and that explains why nature is being taken care of by the local government. There are no factories or any kind of processing p...

VIETNAMESE VILLAGE "VIETVILLE" PUERTO PRINCESA PALAWAN

Image
The VIETNAMESE VILLAGE is practically an abandoned REFUGEE CAMP also known as VIET VILLE to locals. The restaurant that offers Vietnamese dishes is still operational up until today. Local entrepreneurs have the plan to develop the said 13 hectares area into another tourist haven. It is currently undergoing renovation and is open to the public for FREE. The church still serves Sunday masses. Viet Ville is a testament to the friendship between the Philippines and Vietnam. IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHEDRAL PUERTO PRINCESA PALAWAN

Image
The Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Puerto Princesa is one of the grandest Cathedrals in the Philippines. In 1965, Bishop Gregorio Espiga reconstructed the Roman Catholic Cathedral and it is said to be a replica of the Church of Sto. Domingo de la Calzada in Logronio, Spain. It was designed by Architect Maรฑlac and constructed under the supervision of Civil Engineer Florencio Llacuna of Cuyo, Palawan. The inmates of Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm made the wood carvings, the wooden Stations of the Cross, the pews, and the heavy wooden doors. The Cathedral can be found along Rizal Avenue and near the port area of Puerto Princesa. It is accessible by public transport vehicle in the area and can easily be seen from afar. Tabon Cave - Let's Revisit History at Quezon, Palawan

Image
The earliest evidence of man, himself, in the Philippines: which is also the earliest appearance of modern man - homo sapiens sapiens - in these islands, is that of the TABON MAN of Palawan.  The discovery of human fossils was made by a National Museum team headed by the late Dr. Robert Fox. The fossil is composed of the skull cap, or the frontal skull bone, two fragments of jawbones and some teeth. The set of fossils suggest that are at least three individuals.   Credit: National Commission for Culture and the Arts.
